National Direct Payments Forum have drawn up a report to look at the employment status of Personal Assistants, and others employed by Direct Payments recipients.
The Forum is aware of the difficulties facing many around these issues. The report looks at maximising flexibility whilst ensuring that employment status is lawful, and that DP recipients and the workforce are fully legally protected. We also emphasise the importance of properly funded support services to guide users through what are quite often complex issues.
