Crafting for Wellbeing with Active Independence

Active Independence is excited to announce new “Crafting Together, Upcycling for Good” workshops in Rotherham, adding to our successful Art of Wellbeing Programme! Join us at Brecks Community Hub every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, starting on 19th February, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

These free, inclusive, stress-free workshops are designed to improve your health and wellbeing. They are open to Disabled People, Carers and PAs, who are interested in exploring their creative side. Learn new crafting skills, upcycle and repurpose items, make new friends, and most importantly, have a laugh! Relax in a warm, safe, and friendly space. Each month, you’ll try different activities using various techniques. All materials are provided.

Here’s a sneak peek at our upcoming Crafting Together, Upcycling for Good sessions:

  • 19th February: Make Your Own Paper Flowers
  • 5th March: Make Your Own Pom Pom Garland – Recycling: donated wool
  • 19th March: Mushroom Painting – Recycling: old bottle corks

As we progress, the workshops will emphasize the importance of upcycling and repurposing household items that often end up in landfills, highlighting the positive impact this has on our environment. Watch out for more details on future sessions!

Maria, our experienced tutor, can’t wait to explore a range of activities with you, and everyone will have the chance to share ideas and suggestions!

Refreshments will be provided.
