Terms and Conditions
PA Register
When you register to use Active Independence’s PA Register you agree to abide by our terms and conditions which may change from time to time. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with the terms and conditions.
The information contained in this website does not represent any statement by Active Independence as to the suitability or otherwise of the employer or the PA. Nor does Active Independence accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever for the quality, suitability or timeliness of the PA’s work.
It is entirely your responsibility as the employer or PA to ensure that the terms and conditions of employment or the outcome of their work are appropriate and meet your requirements.
Active Independence PA Register provides a web based search tool. This enables registered members to manage their own recruitment or employment. This may be applicable to employers looking to employ the services of a PA or to PA's looking to be employed by employers.
Each member understands and agrees that Active Independence has no involvement concerning matching or recommending members to other members as well as understanding that the PA Register has no obligation to provide members with suitable search results and cannot and does not give any guarantee as to suitability of the results.
A search result shall be considered an interaction between PA members and employer members, and this shall be satisfied by Active Independence providing the facility for one party to communicate with the other party.
The full PA Register is not accessible on the website, so identities are protected. The only information that will be passed on is a telephone number and email address (if provided) when the PA applies for a job. The employer recruiting a PA will contact them directly.
It is free to register as a member on the PA Register. This applies to both PAs or employers.
If you decide to post an advert to recruit a PA, a fee starts from £30. See our Recruitment Fee Structure for full details.
Active Independence may immediately terminate your membership without warning if you breach any of these terms and conditions (as may be amended from time to time), if Active Independence receives any complaint about your conduct, or if you act in a manner deemed by Active Independence to be inappropriate.
You may terminate your membership at any time, for any reason by submitting a notice of termination via the email contact form.
We will respect your information and will comply with all applicable data protection legislation in force in England and Wales. Active Independence will not disclose your personal information to any third party suppliers.
Becoming a member of the Active Independence PA Register you are consenting to us using your personal information to provide the services you need. This means only each PA or employer you are interested in working for links to your information via the search results or if you apply for a job or request that your contact details are passed on by using the email contact form.
You are responsible for any information that you give. You must be specific and relate to your current needs. You agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring the suitability of applicants for the vacancy you are advertising or the job you are applying for.
It is recommended that you undertake a rigorous face to face interview, take steps to verify previous employment and qualifications, take up character and work references, undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check and other actions you consider necessary to confirm the integrity of an applicant or the person you are applying to for a job (the employer).
However, this is your responsibility and Active Independence accepts no responsibility or liability for the placing of a candidate.
All contents of member profiles are subject to our approval.
We reserve the right in our sole discretion to reject or remove any member profile at any time if we believe in good faith it fails to conform to applicable laws and regulations, our policies or the public interest.
In addition, we may reject any URL link or personal contact details embodied within any advertisement.
Active Independence may deactivate the accounts of members who have not used the service for a period of six months or more (as calculated by the date of last connection to the service).
While Active Independence will endeavour to ensure the availability of this website we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free.
In addition, access to this website may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons beyond our control.
Members may not use the services offered through this website or the website itself for illegal and/or unauthorised uses, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email and unauthorised framing of or linking to the website. Any such action will be investigated, and appropriate legal action may be taken, including without limitation, civil, criminal, and injunctive remedies.
Active Independence PA Register is not for the use of any agencies and any enquiries from such organisations should be sent to us using the email contact form.
You are responsible for ensuring that you keep your user name and password confidential.
Except where expressly provided in law, Active Independence shall be under no liability whatsoever to members, failure of, or unsuitability or unfitness for any purpose of this website or the services offered on this PA Register.
Any software used to access the website or any infringement of rights or any other cause. In any event Active Independence’s maximum liability relating to the services provided by the PA Register through this website, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation for breach of contract, breach of statutory duty or negligence, shall be limited to £100.
These terms and conditions and your use of the services offered through this website shall be governed by English law and the parties shall submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. If any provision of these terms and conditions is held invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
