I gave up my job as a Taxi Driver so that I could be a full time Personal Carer for my Granddad. I was responsible for all aspects of care including dealing effectively and quickly with any bed sores that might appear; bathing, cleaning and feeding him; administering his medication; motivating him; researching his illness to ensure that my comprehension was of an exceptional standard in order to care for him to the best of my ability; ensuring that all household bills and issues were taken care of; shopping, and cooking healthy, nutritious meals for both him and my Nan. I also delivered his end of life care, and supported my Nan throughout. I now care for my Nan along the same lines.

I am a dedicated, hardworking, punctual, reliable and self-motivated individual with a natural empathy for people. I can demonstrate excellent communication skills both oral and written; literate and numerate to a high standard; experienced in one-to-one care and can competently deliver a continuous high standard; work well under pressure; a quick learner with outstanding problem solving skills; able to liaise competently at all levels; able to work equally well in a team environment or using my own initiative; able to follow instruction well; I am looking for a role where I can utilise these skills but also build on them, and would readily welcome any relevant training.
