Yes, you read that right – mushroom painting! But this isn’t your typical art class. We’ll be upcycling and repurposing those leftover champagne and wine corks from the festive season. Did you know that an estimated 13 billion bottle corks end up in landfills each year? While Waitrose has recently introduced a cork recycling scheme (the first retailer in 2024 to do so!), we’ll be taking direct action by transforming these corks into charming freestanding or hanging mushrooms. We’ll use bright and pastel spring-like colors to bring them to life.

If you have any champagne or wine corks, please save them and bring them along! This is also a great opportunity to use up any old acrylic paints you might have lurking in sheds or garages – brights, pastels, or whatever inspires you! Let your creativity flow and create your own unique mushroom designs.
