experienced social care support worker
  • 26/07/2018

I work in a residential home for adults with autism working 1-1 with service users and also 2-1 with complex behavior. I worked in the high dependency unit caring for 4 adults with complex needs. I worked with 2 non-verbal and verbal service users who solely depend on full care and a service user with serious epilepsy. I help with the day to day running of the unit such as the shopping, cleaning, laundry and care work. I have done several courses whilst been in this role such as medication handling and a NVQ in Adult social care and also in house training in all aspects of a care home setting.
Personally I also have a disabled child and I was her main carer until she left home to go to university, so i have done hospital appointments, physio, orthotics and meetings with education. I am a driver
