Care funding reform consultation sessions

Age UK and the Department of Health are running two events in London and Leeds to consult older people and carers about Government proposals for the reform of funding for care.

Leeds 1st October, 2.30pm-5.30pm, Quarry House, near Leeds city centre
London 15th October, 2.30pm-5.30pm, Tavis House

We would like to hear from people with experience of using the care system or those who have funded their own care. We would be grateful if you could help us identify suitable individuals interested in joining these conversations and having their voice heard.

The discussions will focus on the individuals’ views of the proposed reform and the information and advice available on the proposals.

We will be asking attendees:

  • What impact do you think the proposals will have on you and your family and do you have any worries about the proposed reform?
  • How do you think the proposals could work in practice and what problems might arise?
  • What information/advice have you had about the proposals and when did you receive it? Is there any other information you would have welcomed? Was the timing right?
  • What information/advice that you have already received has worked well for you?

For further information on these events and to suggest attendees, please contact Rachel Wilkinson in our Policy team.
