Active Independence receives £10,040 funding for advocacy project!

We are pleased to announce that we have received funding from the Office for Disability Issues Facilitation Fund to deliver an Advocacy Project.

The funding, worth £10,040 will be used to provide independent advocacy to disabled people, their families and carers to enable them to get the support and care they need to lead an independent, dignified life. The advocacy will be delivered by peer advocates experienced in using and managing Personal Budgets and, when needed, a fully trained benefits advice worker . The service will be fully operational from April but Active Independence will support anyone who has a current issue.

This funding is in addition to our already previous funding bids of £16,988 during 2011 which is supporting the organisation’s growth and development as a 100% user led organisation.
