Active Independence gets Skills for Care funding!

Skills for Care has awarded Active Independence a grant of £4260 to deliver a number of activities aimed to support disabled people who employ personal assistants or carers to build the skills and qualifications of their employees.

We will be using the grant to run three events across Rotherham and Doncaster, produce six newsletters (in both paper and web-based versions) and support disabled people to register their personal assistants with the National Minimum Dataset(NMDS ). If you or someone you know employs personal assistants /carers to meet their care and support needs please get in touch with us

Skills for Care works across England to ensure that those who work in adult social care have the skills to provide high-quality support . They have  developed a range of resources to help people recruit, train and manage their personal assistants which they have brought together as a toolkit which can be found on their website: www.skillsforcare.org.uk/individualemployers
